ive just posted one of the first drawings from the begining stages of my next book, which for now is pretty secret (notice the lines on the image, censoring out the spoilers haha. well here is the image, of one of the new main characters in my next story, im really excited, and i will strt to reveal more and more as i continue working on it. i havent posted anything in a while so i figured now is as good a time as any. these past couple weekends ive attended two different comic conventions to showcase and sell my work. the first was boston comic con, and the second was jetpack comics convention in portsmouth nh. both were great, i met so many great creators and fans, and its really wondefful to hear all the things people have to say about your stuff. i have officially sold out of THE SHAPE OF SOUND sketchbook i initially printed for the bangpop comic con in bangor maine not too long ago, and actually i sold the original drawing thatw as used for the cover! so thats gone forever haha but im glad someone liked it enough to want to hang it in their home. that means alot. i will be printing more of THE SHAPE OF SOUND books soon, maybe with a few extra pages and a different cover, so look for that if you missed it the first time. i also did a thor commision for someone right there at the show, and it was the best one ive ever drawn, haha, also gone forever... but thats cool too, i made the guy promise to scan it and send it to me, so hopefully we will be seeing that soon....anyway, i had a blast, im going to be trying to get on more and more of these shows as much as possible, so ill keep my website posted with the dates of those. as of now the next one is at the NYCOMICCON from feb 4-6 so definatly come see me at that one. go to www.nycomiccon.com and look at the artist alley to see all the other great artists ill be sitting right next to! thanks alot. talk to you soon. -benNovember 17, 2008

hey everybody. ive got some shows coming up youll have to check me out at.the first is the boston comic con ( www.bostoncomiccon.com) which is november 2nd, ill have a table there and ill obviously be selling nathan the caveman and more copies of my book the shape of sound, so be sure to come say hi.
then theres the ny comiccon again this year, ( www.nycomiccon.com) its in february, and its a HUGE show, so im really pumped to have a table there in artists alley.
in other news. im going to be getting nathan the caveman distributed to various shops around the USA and i have to make sure its getting out there and people are buying it. email me if you have a shop in your town you think might be interested in carrying it, and ill see to it that that happens. thanks alot.

so ive been pretty busy lately, kayaking as much as possible, which is great. getting out on the sea going out to islands ive only seen from the shore of portland and taking lots of pictures.as far as comic stuff goes, ive been working really hard on the beginings of about 3 different projects, its interesting, but busy busy at times, deciding which project to focus on, and for how long. but all in all i will definatly have some new stuff coming out, which is good.
im all finalized for my table at this years NYCOMICCON in feb. www.nycomicon.com so tats exciting, i want to have some more stuff to sell by then besides just NATHAN THE CAVEMAN and THE SHAPE OF SOUND sketchbook, speaking of that sketchbook i still have more left over from the bangpop comic con, so email me if you want one, they are going for 10 bucks. nd speaking of nathan, im working with some people to get better distributed, so talk to the shop in your town and tell them about it, it could be there soon!

ive been doing a lot of writing lately, because even though i swore i would take some time off after the four year project that was NATHAN THE CAVEMAN i swore i wouldnt disapear into that world of long hours, no friends and lots of coffee (working on another graphic novel). but here i am again, about to do it. i have a new story, and im really excited about it, things are moving along quickly and ive been writing alot and doing a bunch of character designs... thats all i can tell you now, haha, but its going to be great!come see me at the bangpop comic con in bangor this saturday!

Ben Bishop is BISHART. He is 24 and living in
Portland, ME. He recently self-published his graphic novel, Nathan the Caveman.
